Metropolitan Restaurant Week Winter 2020 - A Foodie's Guide

Twice a year, Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington (RAMW) host a weeklong restaurant week where both chain and local restaurants are invited to participate and showcase various menu items. Prefix lunch ($22), brunch ($22), and dinner ($35) is offered at participating restaurants in the Washington, D.C. Metro area.

While you can check out the full list here, below are my top picks for this year’s restaurant week! Be sure to comment below with which ones you plan to try out or have hit already. The special ends January 19th so hurry! Reservations are suggested!

Oceanaire Seafood Room

My absolute favorite “go to” during restaurant week! While their lunch is impressive, I typically opt for dinner as the menu features my favorite: “Black & Blue” Australian Barramundi! Oh, and be sure to try their signature key lime pie. It’s the best I’ve ever had.

Ambar

A Richard Sandoval Restaurant must make your RW list! This Balkan cuisine is definitely a treat for your palate. For 2 hours, you get an unlimited amount of small plates. During dinner, you can upgrade to unlimited drinks for $14 and large plates for $10. It’s a deal you can’t beat! They’re also offering lunch. Some of my “must try” items include the tuna tartare, drunken mussels, grilled calamari, brussels sprouts, salmon, and cauliflower.

Capital Grille

I dine here regularly for their business lunch ($27 every week day), but I love to stop in for restaurant week. They offer both lunch and dinner, but dropping in for lunch is my favorite! It’s three-courses and believe me, it’s totally worth it to save some room for the cheesecake.

Del Frisco’s Double Eagle

I never miss an opportunity to indulge in Del Frisco’s dinner. The hardest part is making a decision on what to eat, so I usually hit this spot at least twice to try something different. Wether dining alone, on a date, or with a group— I also recommend getting some of their lobster mac and cheese. The VIP is also a nice accompaniment to any dinner.

Nobu

While many people aren’t a fan of the Nobu DC, I personally think that this is such a bang for your buck! Worth every dollar during restaurant week, give it a try and be sure to try the black cod miso. Make a reservation today, or you’ll be sorry!

Ruth’s Chris

While multiple locations offer dinner, only Tyson’s Corner offers lunch. Drop in for some of the best seafood and steak. Oh yea, the creamed spinach is to die for! The crab cakes come out sizzling.

Texas de Brazil

Be sure to book ASAP! The reservations at Texas de Brazil fill up fast and for good reason. Their dinner price during restaurant week is a steal! You get unlimited meats and an amazing salad bar! From lamb to filet mignon, lobster bisque, and everything in between— all of your heart’s desires will be met! Make sure you mention restaurant week to the host when checking in.
