Self-Care Saturday : 5 DIY Face Masks using Household Items

We’ve made it to the first Saturday of the new year. I’m sure we all need a little alone time to decompress from family and friends, and a whole lot of social appearances this holiday season.

This weekend, focus on you and use those items laying around your kitchen to make you feel rejuvenated. Apply cucumbers on your eyelids and turn on your favorite tunes or opt to stay awake and binge watch your favorite Netflix show while your skin begins to glow.

Exfoliate

Get rid of that dull skin by combining sugar, lemon, and olive oil to brighten your face.

What you’ll need:

2 tablespoons sugar

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 lemon, juiced

How to:

1) In a bowl, combine ingredients.

2)Gently apply to face and scrub in circular motions for at least 60 seconds.

3)Rinse with water and pat dry.

Hydrate

Winter is known to be damaging to skin. Rehydrate with a perfect blend of avocados, honey, and more!

What you’ll need:

1 avocado

2 tablespoons plain yogurt

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 tablespoon honey

How to:

1) In a bowl, combine ingredients.

2)Gently apply to face evenly. Allow to sit on face for 10-15 minutes, or as desired.

3)Rinse with thoroughly with water and pat dry.
